Why do girls have sex?

2) I have read about the different reasons why girls have sex from the book called Virgin sex for girls. My favorite story was Kayla's-In Love because I understand how she felt. I can relate to many things she experience but the only difference is that until this day, I am with my first love. My boyfriend did not force me to do anything I did not want to do or rush me to do anything  I was not ready to do. I agree with Kayla, this makes you fall in love with you lover even more because of the amount of respect he shows towards you. Every time we seen one another, sex was not always what occurred. We enjoy each other's company, we laugh at everything, and he helps me cope with my personal issues. Everyone says to me you're only 17, its just lust but I don't argue them down because I know what my feelings are and as long as him and I are on the same page, I pay no mind to the judgmental things other say. I don't consider him just my first love, but he is also my genuine best friend!

3)The names of the characters were Kayla and Tom.

4) In the story Kayla met this boy named Tom. She later then found out that they had a lot of things in common so they eventually started dating. At first their relationship was not based on sexual intercourse. Although they touched each other, took showers together, sex never happened. Until kayla decided she wanted Tom to be her first. Tom only had one partner before Kayla so he was still learning what to do as well as Kayla. Tom had respect for Kayla and they both always expressed their feelings towards one another. After a while they grew apart from one another because of going to different schools and hanging around more friends. Their relationship ended  on a good note and that's how kayla wanted it to be. She had No regrets and later on developed a positive attitude towards sex.

5) In my opinion, I would have felt the same way but I think that I would have tried to stay in contact with him because your first time is special and if it was true love at first site, I feel that nothing would have broken us apart.

Assignment #1 Cycle 3

Three new vocabulary words I learned from reading the article were:
  • prostaglandins- chemicals in the body that makes the smooth muscle in the uterus contract.
  • implantation- (a process) Progesterone, another hormone released by the ovaries, keeps the endometrium thick with blood so that the blastocyst can attach to the uterus and absorb nutrients from it.
  • vulvovaginitis-an inflammation of the vulva and vagina. It may be caused by irritating substances (such as laundry soaps or bubble baths). Poor personal hygiene (such as wiping from back to front after a bowel movement) may also cause this problem.

I heard that there is a such thing called menstrual problems and alot of them affect girls.
Here are some that is most common:
  • dysmenorrhea (pronounced: dis-meh-nuh-ree-uh) when a girl has painful periods.
  • menorrhagia (pronounced: meh-nuh-rah-zhuh) when a girl has a very heavy periods with excess bleeding.
  • oligomenorrhea (pronounced: o-lih-go-meh-nuh-ree-uh) when a girl misses or has infrequent periods, even though she's been menstruating for a while and isn't pregnant.
  • amenorrhea (pronounced: a-meh-nuh-ree-uh) when a girl hasn't started her period by the time she is 16 years old or 3 years after starting puberty, has not developed signs of puberty by age 14, or has had normal periods but has stopped menstruating for some reason other than pregnancy.

I noticed that alot of things can go wrong in the female anatomy system. For an example, nonmenstrual vaginal bleeding is due to urethral prolapse, a condition in which the mucous membranes of the urethra protrude into the vagina and form a tiny, donut-shaped mass of tissue that bleeds easily. It can also be caused by a minor injury (such as when falling onto a beam or bicycle frame) or vaginal trauma from sexual abuse.

I wonder why does so many things occur in the female anatomy system more than in the male anatomy system?

assignment #5

BeingGirl

1. I took two quizes on beinggirl.com, one named Sexual orientation and using 911. The sexual orientation quiz was kind of boring to me because it was a little challenging. It talked about the studies of being gay and the effects people go through because of their life style they choose to live. I did not do so well on this quiz, i scored three out of eight wrong. I found the using 911 call to be interesting. It feels good to know that I know what to do in case of an emergency and how to help others. I scored eight out of eight right on this quiz.

2. The one game I played was fun. The game was called dress up legs,it was interesting because I never knew that you could dress up your legs. From this game I realized it involves your skin color,a shave gel for shaving, and polishing your toe nails. I actually learned something about my body be playing the game.

2. What did you predict your book would be about? Were you correct in your prediction? Explain.

-I predicted that my book would be about teenage girls experiencing life and new things to their bodies that can either help them in a good way or bad way. Yes I was correct in my prediction because I read about alot of girls who had sex and they shared the good and bad things that came along with it. They also talked about taking care of their bodies to keep away diseases thats harmful.

3. What interesting information did you learn that you want to share with other people? Write about what you learned in your own words.

- The information that I learned and want to share with other people is that Masturbation is a way of figuring out what feels good to you and it is a helpful way to get aquainted with your body. I also learned that there are several different sexuality such as Gay, straight, lesbian, Bi, lesbian, queer, Bi curious and Bi questioning. Becoming pregnant is a big responsibility to take onto. You have to make decisions that can determine your future  in a good or bad way.

4. Why do you think it is important?

- I think this information is important because it is a helpful source of knowledge that's giving to you for free of charge. Its important for us girls to know about our bodies and to know what to do if we were ever to get caught up in a situation that involves adult decisions. This can also persuade you to take care of your body more often than before if you weren't doing so and help you get more involved with your health. You can go to clinics to keep check ups, ask your doctor questions that would help you keep yourself protected. As females, we seem to go through a lot in life and have to worry about more things than males which makes.

5. What questions do you have about what you learned?

- Why is masturbation a good way to get used to your body?
- If you do not wish to get pregnant, why would you have unprotected sex?
-What made you loose your virginity? Was it peer pressure?
